Letter from Beckie to her loyal customers and fans

Dear beloved customers and fans,

After 18 years in Webster Groves, I have been unable to come to an agreement with my landlord, who will terminate the lease at the end of 2021. Fortunately, my plans for an all new landmark location in the Grove have been in the works. I am graduating from a smaller shop to a newer, bigger, and better space!

The new shop will have new hours and menus. I will be open earlier for coffee and pastries and remain open late with Spirited Shakes for those over 21. Look for new menu items such as Coffee Floats (coffee over a bon bon), Affogato (ice cream topped with a shot of hot espresso), and Poffertjes (tiny Dutch pancakes).

Every year, I close the shop for the month of January and reopen on the first weekend of February for Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. This year is a little different. Due to supply chain and construction issues, buildout of my new Grove location is taking longer than expected. So I will not be open until Spring 2022.

The good news is: I will be using this opportunity to collaborate and partner with friends, many of whom are restaurant customers. Expect Serendipity to pop up in various locations all around the St. Louis area!

Ice Cream for Breakfast Day will be back this year. It will take place at both The Parkmoor Drive-In and The Sliced Pint: February 5th, 8-11 am. After Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, I plan to be open on the 2nd level of The Sliced Pint up until I am fully open in the new Grove location.

Thanks for your patience and for bearing with me as Serendipity goes through changes, grows, and takes the next big step. I really appreciate all of your support in Webster Groves the past 18 years *and* I am still looking for a suitable location in the area.

In the meantime, I truly hope you will follow and stick with me during my move to the new Grove location. This is my dream! Continue the journey with me!

Sincerely, Beckie Jacobs, Owner,
Serendipity Homemade Ice Cream
